Scott, a fifth generation Northern Californian was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and spent childhood summers with his grandparents in Glen Ellen, in the Valley of the Moon.
Scott began his building career in Boston, MA in 1982. He attended the Boston Design Center where he was exposed to the custom home market through a work study program. He quickly traded his seat at the drafting table for a set of carpenter's bags on New England job sites. Scott remodeled many historical Brownstones in the South End and built homes in the North Shore and other areas surrounding the city. His final job in Boston was the remodel of the personal residence of the head of the Graduate School of Design at Harvard.
In 1993 the Lindquist family moved to Santa Fe, NM and Scott's traditional training was put to the test. "We will catch it on the scratch coat!" was the response to any comment concerning accuracy. It was both challenging and freeing. With two years of straw bales, pumicecrete, adobe and Rastra, Scott's building systems evolved to embrace environmental elements and permaculture principles. The New England desire for fine woodworking persisted.
From 1995 to 2015, Scott was involved with the building community in Santa Fe as a business owner and board member of the National Home Builders Association and Santa Fe Green Builders Association. He completed many projects and won awards in the prestigious Haciendas Parade of Homes. He was the General Contractor for the renovation of historic 400 acre La Barbaria Ranch. He built commercial spaces including the Santa Fe Animal Hospital, a modern gallery space at the Lensic Performing Arts Center and the Indigo Baby organic baby goods store. Throughout his career the custom house market has been his passion.
In 2015 family called Scott back to the Sonoma Valley. He has been involved in interesting and high end projects in Sonoma and has developed good relationships with local sub-contractors. His extensive work experience fits well with the style and sensibility of the North Bay custom home market.
Throughout his building experiences, the work to form meaningful and fruitful relationships with architects and owners have been most rewarding and memorable.
Scott is certified as a Green Professional by the National Association of Home Builders.
